Program Information
The best of the best. The El Capitan Eco Adventure takes place at the idyllic El Capitan Canyon Resort near Santa Barbara and brings together WOLF’s finest offerings in a beautiful setting ideal for environmental study. Students enjoy a year-round riparian environment, easy beach access and ocean opportunities, abundant wildlife, amazing food and cabins, first-rate environmental programs, and a working llama farm. So much fun. Cozy upscale amenities such as a heated swimming pool, camp store, loaner bikes, service deli, and nearby Refugio state beach are favorites of students and staff alike. The resort site at El Capitan Canyon supports WOLF’s favorite science, team building, and primitive skills activities such as high ropes climbing, solar boats, giant slingshots, PLS village, Frontier Outpost, botany & microscope, birds of prey, riparian ecology, water testing and so much more. What a treasure! Many of WOLF’s best public and private schools find the El Capitan Eco Adventure to be the most beautiful and purposeful program in the WOLF portfolio.

El Capitan Canyon resort is a short 20 miles north of Santa Barbara. Located in a seaside valley amidst 300-plus acres of the serene central Pacific coast, the grounds are beautifully maintained and offer direct access to woodland, riparian, and ocean ecosystems. The camp features luxurious cabins and lodging, extensive hiking trails, lush recreational fields, a high ropes adventure course, and a rich history of the native Chumash. El Capitan is our favorite place for outdoor trips focusing on scientific exploration.
