Camp Setting- Adjacent to Lake
Cachuma, Camp Whittier provides a site rich with wildlife and
scenery. This 50-acre rustic camp is recommended for grades 5 - 12.
Trails lead to the nearby wilderness areas of Lake Cachuma and close
mountain peaks.
Guest Capacity- Maximum of 140 total
beds. Nine cabins, each sleeping 12 are in two clusters, a lodge with
semi-private bedrooms sleeps 15, a large classroom area, dining
lodge, and several activity areas. Campsites are also
available.
Camp Amenities- An extensive high and
low ropes course, climbing tower, swimming pool, excellent hiking,
and easy access to Lake Cachuma.
Comments- With a creek flowing the
length of the camp, Whittier is an excellent site for riparian
ecology and botany. Because of the extensive high and low ropes
course this is an ideal location for programs centered around
teambuilding.
