Camp Setting- Situated at an elevation
of 2,000 feet with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and above
Del Refugio Canyon in the Santa Ynez Mountains, Rancho La Scherpa is
210 acres of unspoiled mountain ecology.
Guest Capacity- Maximum of 125 total
beds. Three lodges each sleep 24, all with a common room and
fireplace. Six dorms with 12 beds. One dorm half is utilized as a
conference or classroom.
Camp Amenities- High and low ropes
course, swimming pool, nearby horseback riding.
Comments- Because of the virtually
untouched nature of this site, the educational opportunities are vast
and unique. A variety of trails wind through different life zones and
geological formations yield to wildlife viewing, botany, mountain and
chaparral ecology, astronomy, and birds of prey.
