Santa
Barbara County is a paradise for outdoor recreational activities. Tucked
between the hospitable Santa Ynez Mountains and nearly 100 miles of
California coastline, the county draws surfers, hikers, naturalists,
in-line skaters, mountain bikers, rock climbers, SCUBA divers,
hang-gliders and more. Santa Barbara is the most
Mediterranean and pristine of any California seaside town, and is
populated by a mix of artists, retirees, yuppies, movie stars, and
students attending the University of California's Santa Barbara campus.
The Spanish colonial architectural theme (the county courthouse, built
in 1929, is a fine example) gives a harmonious feel to the city and
invites exploration. |
